COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER

Columbia University Medical Center is a world leader in the areas of psychiatric medicine, including psychiatric research, education, and clinical care.  Many children who meet the criteria for assessment and evaluation go without the services they need because of a shortage of clinical professionals to assess, evaluate, and connect them to services they need and deserve. The mission of Columbia University's Psychiatry Department is to define for the field the standards of care and practices in psychiatry through leading edge research, clinical care, policy, and training. The Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest in the country in faculty size as well as state, federal, and foundation research support. It is currently among the top ranked in the nation for Psychiatry, as well as #1 in psychiatric research funding from the National Institutes of Health. Additionally, the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has grown into one of the largest faculty and training programs in the United States.
